چکیده
Background: Kawasaki disease (KD) is a frequent cause of acquired heart in infants and young children, which may be triggered by infectious agents, with the highest incidence Asian countries. Several genotypes are identified as susceptibility genes for KD, but none known Iranian population. Objectives: Due to racial differences frequency significance genes, we aimed investigate 8p22-23-rs2254546 sample children their association aneurysm resistance treatment. Methods: In this prospective cross-sectional study, 100 KD group were compared matched unrelated healthy no history or immune-related disease. The control subjects ethnically recruited from same hospital at time routine physical examination. analyzed using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) direct sequencing techniques, three (GA, AA, GG) was reported. Finally, IVIG reported, associations tested SPSS software. Results: Of patients mean age 1.9 ± 1.7 (0.1 - 10.2) years, 57% boys 43% girls. them, 62% had GG, 30% GA, 8% AA genotypes. Besides, 21% studied resistant IVIG, 19% aneurysm, not associated GG GA (P = 0.29 0.88, respectively). Conclusions: majority shown have genetic susceptibility, shows importance genotype children. However, risk aneurysm.

Predictors of Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) Resistance in Children with Kawasaki Disease in Calabria Region, Italy
Background Kawasaki disease (KD) is the second most common childhood vasculitis and one of the main causes of acquired heart disease in children. Recent work focuses on the early diagnostic importance of those risk factors that indicate resistance to intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) treatment. The objectives of this study were to identify clinical, laboratory and/or instrumental factors that c...
متن کاملUse of Corticosteroid in Children with Unresponsiveness to Intravenous Immunoglobulin in Kawasaki Disease
Background Kawasaki Disease (KD) is a vasculitis with multi-organ involvementof unknown etiology; it is the most common cause of pediatric-heart diseases in developed countries. Treatment with Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) prevents coronary artery lesions; although there are some IVIG-resistant cases, combination therapy with corticosteroids and IVIG is one of the recommendations for treatm...
متن کاملPredictive factors of resistance to intravenous immunoglobulin and coronary artery lesions in Kawasaki disease
PURPOSE We conducted a study to determine which factors may be useful as predictive markers in identifying Kawasaki disease (KD) patients with a high risk of resistance to intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) and developing coronary artery lesions (CAL). METHODS We enrolled 287 patients in acute phase of KD at a single center. The demographic, clinical and laboratory data were collected retrospe...
متن کاملClinically Useful Predictors of Resistance to Intravenous Immunoglobulin and Prognosis of Coronary Artery Lesions in Patients with Incomplete Kawasaki Disease
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES The prevalence of incomplete Kawasaki disease (iKD) is progressively increasing. We aimed to retrospectively investigate the predictors of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) resistance in iKD patients and compare them with those of IVIG resistance in complete Kawasaki disease (cKD) patients. We also compared the prognosis of coronary artery lesions (CALs) between the IV...
متن کاملEvaluation of iron status in patients with coronary artery disease
Background: Iron can causes lipid peroxidation in vivo and in vitro. Iron promotes myocardial injury in experimental animals. Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) oxidation by oxidants including iron have a central role in atherosclerotic process. By this means, evaluation of serum iron in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) has a significant importance. Materials and Methods: In this cross s...
